VRCA Award of Excellence, Heritage – Gold –
Hotel Georgia (2012)
Restoration of the historic Georgia Hotel, located in downtown Vancouver. The hotel was completely gutted, decreasing the number of rooms from 315 to 156 to make them more modern and spacious. New meeting spaces, restaurant and kitchens were added as well as an outdoor patio and a saltwater pool. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems were replaced and upgraded and new elevators were installed.
VRCA Award of Excellence, Heritage – Silver – Honour House (2012)
Honour House was a rebuild / expansion of a 1930's heritage house in New Westminster. The building was expanded to include 10 accessible suites, with full washrooms. An elevator was added and the building was structurally rebuilt to today's seismic codes. The projected was completed with the contributions of many suppliers, contractors and individuals. Honour House will provide temporary housing for injured soldiers, first responders and their families.
VRCA Member of the Year Award (2012)
Scott Construction was named ‘Member of the Year’ for 2012 through the VRCA in recognition of: long-time service & commitment; being a member for 24 years; sponsoring various events and Scott personnel involvement with committees, boards and events.
LEED Gold Certified – West Vancouver Community Centre (2011)
Multi-use facility with gymnasium, dance studios, and offices for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and ambulatory care facility and the new home for the West Vancouver youth band. Three storey, concrete and steel structure with one level of underground parking.
REBGV Commercial Building Community Facility of Excellence Award – Georgia Hotel (2011) Construction of a 48-storey, mixed-use high rise with eight floors of underground parking. The first twelve floors of commercial space, includes an amenity floor with a gym, spa and pool. Floors 14 to 48 offer luxury high-rise condominiums
AWMAC Gold Award - UBC Buchanan A Building (2011)
Buchanan Block A is a 31,677 square foot project including full renovations, seismic upgrades and envelope upgrades. Located at the University of British Columbia.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Gold – Robert H.N. Ho Research Centre (2011)
The Robert H.N. Ho Research centre is a Seven-storey, 63,000 square foot addition to the existing Jack Bell Research Facility located on the Vancouver General Hospital Campus. This project is made up of a concrete and steel structure clad in glass and metal panels. The Research facility became the new home for the Prostate Cancer Centre and the Center for Hip Health.
Best Small and Medium Employer (2011)
Scott Construction named in the top 50 of the Best Small and Medium Employers in a study conducted by Queen’s Centre for Business Venturing, the Queen’s University School of Business and Aon Hewitt.
VRCA Award of Excellence – CBC Radio-Canada (2010)
This redevelopment project was a combination of renovation and new construction to the CBC's broadcast station in Vancouver. A 30-year-old facility was upgraded to make the organization fully HD compliant and features a 21,000 square foot HD newsroom. The scope of work involved demolition, renovation and new construction while the facility remained fully operational.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Sauder School of Business (2010)
New construcction of a six-level, 52,000 square foot building with a five-storey atrium, three-tiered lectue theatre, five large lecture rooms, breakout rooms and study areas, cafe and support facilities -- all tied into the existing building.
VRCA Award of Excellence – West Vancouver Community Centre (2009)

VRCA Award of Excellence – Silver – York House School (2008)
31,000-sq-ft addition of underground gymnasium and theatre topped with a new artificial field along with additional renovations to existing academic facilities and gymnasium.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Gold – UBC Buchanan C (2007)
30,000-sq-ft upgrade to existing heritage building constructed to LEED standards. Work included new windows, seismic upgrade, mechanical and electrical upgrade to new architectural layout, and finishes.

VRCA Award of Excellence – Silver – VST Iona (2006)
76,300-sq-ft renovation and seismic upgrade to existing stone-clad concrete frame building, including demolition of all existing interior finishes, seismic upgrade of existing structure, new interior finishes for student residences, offices and academic facilities.
BCRMCA Award for Excellence in Concrete Construction – Special Applications Technical Merit –Christ Church Cathedral (2006)
1,135-sq-ft, two-storey addition to the existing Church building. Demolition and renovation to existing rooms adjacent to new addition.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Gold – Christ Church Cathedral (2005)
This 11,000-sq-ft heritage restoration, renovation, and seismic upgrade to 1895 gothic revival–style church included a new suspended organ gallery, restoration of original floor and ceiling, preservation of heritage elements, and improvements to acoustic, sound, lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Silver – MacLeod II/Fred Kaiser Building (2005)
5-Storey Lab and Office Engineering Building at UBC. Code upgrade with a significant seismic and life safety upgrade and addition to the engineering teaching facilities, protecting the students and faculty from fire, earthquake, and other hazards.
VRCA Award of Excellence – Silver – Callisto (2005)
A sister building to the Carina project, the Callisto is a 35-storey condominium tower with 121 suites and 16 townhouses at Coal Harbour.
