Director, Business Development

Chief Estimator

Currently, we are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead our Estimating team in Vancouver.

Reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Chief Estimator is responsible for the management of all aspects of the estimating department. They lead the corporate estimating team in the securement of new work while also maintaining good working relationships with the Business Unit Managers that they support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer department functions including operating budgets, staffing and allocating work assignments

• Coach, mentor and support Estimating team to ensure their personal development and success

• Develop and foster close ties with clients, consultants, trades and suppliers

• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiencies

• Consult with Business Unit Managers with regard to general conditions, construction methodology and schedules during the Tender/Pre-Construction process

• Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation

• Create goals and strategies for the Estimating Business Unit strategic plan, including delivering on those goals

• Represent the Company at both Company sponsored as well as industry events

• Keep abreast of the marketplace and trends to gain and maintain our competitive advantage, develop effective winning bid strategies

• Interface with Business Development, Preconstruction and Operations

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum of 10 years experience working within a General Contracting Estimating department

• Previous management experience required

• Knowledge and experience working on projects from $100,000 to $250 million

• A relevant Construction Qualification

• Knowledge of Contract Law, Insurance and Bonding

• Proven Integrity when dealing with Clients, Trades and Consultants

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, familiarity with BIM

Regional Manager - Alberta

We are further expanding to the Alberta market and we are looking for that individual to take the lead role.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you are a driven, results-oriented individual with at least ten years experience in the industrial/commercial/institutional sectors. You have proven results in developing business and achieving results within the Alberta construction market.

Your objective is to build our Edmonton based operations with your first priority being business development. You must be comfortable knocking on doors, building relationships and making the deal. Additional responsibilities include budgeting, planning, marketing, staffing, contracts administration, insurance and human resources management.

This position requires a motivated and professional individual with proven business development and leadership skills. You must demonstrate integrity, honesty, energy, and teamwork to be a fit within our culture with your ‘soft skills’ being a strong contributing factor to your success.

Estimator - Vancouver

We are currently looking for an Estimator to add to our expanding Estimating Department.

Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing Lump Sum Tenders

• Creation and Presentation of Detailed Budgets

• Quantity Take-offs

• Risk Management

• Creation of Tender Packages and Scopes of Work

• Review of Trade Tender Quotes

• Construction Methodology and Schedules

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum of 7 years experience working within a General Contracting Estimating department

• Knowledge and experience working on ICI and residential projects from $100,000 to $100 million

• A relevant Construction Qualification

• Knowledge of Contract Law, Insurance and Bonding

• Proven Integrity when dealing with clients, trades and consultants.
