We believe in ethical and profitable growth while acknowledging our responsibility to the environment and to society. We are a part of and contribute to our local economy and support charities and communities in which we work.
We extend our corporate responsibility into the way we manage our construction sites. We believe all our
projects should be built in a safe, cooperative, and sustainable manner. Our “ECO Vision” Team, Sustainable Building Practices and Purchasing Program, Green House Gases (GHG) Management, and our pronounced construction waste diversion programs all speak to the economic, environmental, and social responsibilities of our company.
Scott Construction has many projects underway either registered for LEED Certification or using LEED as a benchmark for incorporating as many sustainable building elements possible.
Scott Construction encourages and financially supports all our staff to educate themselves in sustainability, green buildings and processes, and to become LEED Accredited Professionals.

Eco Vision Group
The Eco Vision Group, together with senior management, promotes and provides sustainable education and training programs, participation in local community activities to promote sustainability, and continued development to ensure Scott is at the forefront of sustainable building practices.
Sustainable and Central Purchasing
Scott’s central purchasing division focuses on the environmental criteria of the materials and suppliers for our construction sites. Consideration is given to suppliers that provide reduced packaging, local, recycled, and environmentally friendly products. Proximity to construction sites, vehicle types and delivery vehicle emissions are all taken into account.
Waste Management
All our offices and sites have strict recycling rules in place. Good condition materials are donated to Habitat for Humanity and other non-profit organizations. We've been involved in improved Construction & Demolition Recycling programs since 1995.
We've completed a number of pilot projects to determine true recycle rates and develop ways to improve through ongoing training, better purchasing practices, and recycling methods.
3rd Party GHG Monitoring
Looking forward, businesses are encountering increased pressure to reduce their contribution to climate change. The construction industry experiences a degree of scrutiny over the "carbon footprint" during construction and will need to demonstrate environmentally responsible practices to remain competitive in the marketplace. Scott Construction leads the way for carbon footprint management and setting targets for reduction.
Community
Proper project planning gives consideration to connectivity in the local economy and impacts on community, prosperity, education, and transportation. Scott Construction donates over 400 hours a year and materials required to the YWCA for retrofitting facilities for women in need.
Here are some of the other community activities we're proud to take part in:
