Scott spotlighted by Procore Technologies for mental health awareness

World Mental Health Day is an amazing initiative that’s not just celebrated on October 10th, but that’s also leading global awareness of key mental health issues 365 days a year.

As a people-first company, the well-being of our team members has always been paramount. This has influenced high workplace safety standards and, most recently, proactive mental health programs.

In 2016, Scott created a mental health committee to focus on the psychological health of our team. This committee consists of members from across our organization who identify topics related to mental health in order to drive productive communication and promote the necessary training to address mental health challenges.

“We want people to feel empowered within a safe and supportive environment. To us, it’s just as important to break down walls as it is to build them up.”

In particular, substance abuse has garnered a lot of attention as the construction industry has been directly impacted by the Opioid Crisis. Facing this challenge head-on, our committee has facilitated Naloxone training for work sites and has invited guest speakers to outline what the journey to recovery entails.

As an organization, we’re just getting started. We’ve been able to make great progress in the area of mental health, but we know that there’s still a lot of work to be done.
