BC Housing and the City of Abbotsford are partnering to deliver a new 5-storey, 63-unit supportive housing development at 1610 Riverside Road to help address and prevent homelessness. The building will feature an outdoor patio, indoor lounge and dining area, and Indigenous-focused programming spaces designed with input from the Matsqui and Sumas First Nations. Landscaping and public art will further reflect local cultural values. The parking lot will also be adaptable for community sports activities, such as basketball, when not in use.
Operated by Lookout Housing and Health Society, the facility will provide residents with person-centred supports including daily meals, health services, case planning, and life skills training to promote long-term stability and wellbeing.
