Scott Construction delivered the Bowling Green Community Activity Centre for the City of Richmond, a modern 3,681 sq. ft. facility that replaced the original 1960s clubhouse in Minoru Park. The single-storey centre supports both lawn bowling and community programming, with a multi-purpose gathering space, commercial kitchen, accessible change rooms, and storage.
In support of Richmond’s Circular City Strategy, over 28,000 lbs of cedar from the deconstructed clubhouse were salvaged and donated to Habitat for Humanity, keeping materials in use and reducing waste. Sustainability and accessibility were key priorities, with the project targeting LEED Gold and Rick Hansen Foundation Gold certification through energy-efficient systems, universal design strategies, and a durable building envelope.
The completed facility provides an inclusive and energy-efficient space for community recreation and events, reflecting Richmond’s commitment to circularity, sustainability, and resilient civic infrastructure.
