The Britannia Heritage Shipyards is a 3.2-hectare historic cannery and shipyard site. It consists of a collection of wooden buildings related to early Britannia operation and others not originally on the site relocated for interpretive purposes. The site was declared a National Historic Site in 1991and opened as a city park in 1995.

Phase 1 of the Britannia Shipyards Envelope, Mechanical and Structural Renewal project will revive five (5) structures: Chinese Bunk House; Gift Shop; Murakami Boat Works; Murakami House; and Boat Builders Buildings.
