As members of the SFU community, Marianne Gibson and her late husband Edward Gibson have inspired many through their passion for education and the arts. The new Gibson Art Museum will continue this legacy by serving as a teaching museum on SFU’s Burnaby Campus.
Scheduled for completion in 2025, Scott has been selected as the Construction Manager of the 12,000 sq.ft. arts and cultural facility. It will be featured as a core element of the UniverCity East Gate project, which will represent a renewed ‘town square’ and feature mixed amenities. The museum will create interdisciplinary learning and research opportunities for SFU students while functioning as a venue for important exhibitions, community outreach, and community partnerships. Students, scholars, and the general public will be able to appreciate more than 5,500 pieces of modern and contemporary art.
